“It makes no difference
If it's sweet or hot
Just give that rhythm
Everything you've got
It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing”
--Duke Ellington

The Taos Center for the Arts presents "Swing into Spring" with a special night of dinner and dancing with Swing Fever with vocalist Denise Perrier. We invite you to Jitterbug your blues away, “break out” and shake off the struggles of our modern world for one night of Swing; harmonic sophistication, improvisational brilliance, and fun.
Swing Fever has been performing jazz of the 1930’s and 40’s for twenty-nine years. The band has toured and recorded with renowned musicians including Count Basie, Duke Ellington, trumpeter Clark Terry, clarinetist Buddy DeFranco and vibraphonist Terry Gibbs.

Created and nurtured in the San Francisco Bay Area, Swing Fever has always persisted, somewhat against the grain. In its own piano-less Swing style, well garnished with vocals, the band is devoted to classic Gershwin and Ellington on the one hand and jive on the other.

Swing Fever
is dedicated to the music of the Swing Era, playing it as critic Phil Elwood said, “as though the numbers are on today’s Hit Parade.” The band treats Swing Era music as a living breathing form, to which the players bring fresh excitement, new arrangements and unusual instrumentation. Clever, fun, romantic, moody, witty – here is wonderful music presented in its full emotional range.

The evening begins with Champagne Cocktails at 6:30 PM followed by an Italian four course dinner and swing dance demonstration by John Henry Moore. If you want to really do it up there will be a costume contest for the best dressed from the 1940’s. The band concert starts at 8:00 PM. There will be a cash bar.

The concert with dinner tickets are $75.00 and you can reserve your tickets by calling the TCA at 575-758-2052 or through PayPal.

You may also purchase a $25 ticket that does not include dinner. Doors open for the concert at 7:45 PM.
