Submission Criteria
- Call is open to emerging and established artists
- Artists may not have exhibited with “TCA Exhibits” within the last 3 years.
- Accepted Media for the Encore Gallery includes: drawing, painting, printmaking, mixed media, photography or a combination of wall and sculptural works as deemed suitable to the venue. Installation works appropriate for the Encore Gallery space are also accepted.
- Artists must have a body of work to appropriately fill the Encore Gallery.
- Collaborations are welcome.
- Work must be original and prepared to hang.
- All work should be available for purchase during the exhibit.
General Information
- Exhibitions will run February 2025- January 2026
- Shows are between 4-6 weeks long
- TCA publicizes the exhibition on its website and social media/e-newsletter.
- TCA prepares exhibition labels.
- TCA Art Committee may conduct a studio visit and work with artists to curate and hang the exhibition.
- Artists are expected to lead install and de-install .
- Artists receive 60% of retail sales price, artwork sold through TCA is tax free.
- Artists are responsible for shipping arrangements/expenses.
- Artists are responsible for additional exhibition signage expenses beyond vinyl wall titling
- Artists will provide information & images for marketing six weeks prior to exhibition opening.
Submission Process: To submit work for consideration, there are 2 options:
Option 1: Submit a proposal in one email to Anna Forster-Smith at anna@tcataos.org that includes these attachments: A single document with (a) a short exhibition proposal, (b) an artist statement/bio and 10-15 samples/images of work.

PreShow Animation on TCA Big Screen
Call for animators/filmmakers to submit proposals for a 35 second (or less) “Welcome to the theater / house notes” animation to run before films at TCA. Hand drawn, 3D, digital, stop motion, all forms of animation accepted.
Deadline: Ongoing!
Criteria
- Call is open to emerging and established filmmakers/animators residing in Taos County or within a 50 mile radius of Taos.
- Collaborations are welcome.
*Note: To be considered, TCA is asking artists to first submit their interest and share examples of their previous work. TCA is not asking for completed “Welcome to the theater / house notes” animation as part of the application.
Submission Process
Send one email to Alice Morillon at alice@tcataos.org that includes
(1) examples of your work or portfolio
(2) a short animation proposal – tell us about your ideas for the welcome/house notes (may include visual references, brief story board, music style / audio references, or just a narrative). Read below for more information.

Animation Requirements
- 00:15-00:35 seconds duration
- 1080p or higher
- All ages appropriate
- Audio can be original music, voice-over, voice-acting, etc.
- Works must be original and not include copyrighted content
