3rd Ward Summer 2010 Open Call Update:
Announcing the addition of the Vox Populi Award to the 3rd Ward Summer 2010 Open Call, allowing the public to cast their votes for their favorite artists!
The participant who receives the highest number of votes and overall rating on his/her artwork will be awarded a $1,000 cash grant and a feature in 3rd Ward's Quarterly Magazine. Vox Populi voting closes Wednesday July 28, 2010, giving Open Call participants exactly 2 weeks to garner their public votes.
To sweeten the deal even more, 3rd Ward Open Call has extended the expiration date to redeem 1 FREE image with submission. Use promo code OpenCallLastChance until July 28th for a free chance at a seat in the international art world. If you haven't entered yet, this is your chance.
Our panel of judges will still be determining the recipient of the Grand Prize Award, which includes:
* $5,000 cash grant
* Solo exhibition in 3rd Ward's gallery, complete with a massive opening reception
* Optional 3-month work residency at 3rd Ward, including work studio and full facility access (photo studios, wood & metal shop, media lab, art education classes)
* Airfare & shipping to and from 3rd Ward for non-NYC residents
* 2-page spread in 3rd Ward's Quarterly Magazine
* NYC exposure - postcards, fliers, press!
PLUS - the top 25 artists will be featured in 3rd Ward's Quarterly Magazine and Online Gallery.

The 3rd Ward Summer 2010 Open Call is a juried international art competition looking for dynamic, inventive and provocative work of all mediums, including: photography, painting, drawing, printmaking, illustration, sculpture, graphic design, fashion design, performance, installation, video and more! Submissions can include: completed work, works-in-progress and/or conceptual proposals.
3rd Ward is a New York City based arts organization that was founded on the principles of creating unique opportunities for artists and presenting innovative artwork. Offering interdisciplinary art education programs, photo studios, wood and metal shops, media lab and office spaces, the facilities have been serving hundreds of creatives since 2006.

CALL FOR ENTRIES: NEW MEXORADO
June 22 - November 1, 2010
Location: Harwood Museum of Art
The Harwood Museum of Art and the University of New Mexico present New Mexorado: an upcoming exhibition showcasing artists working and living in the Albuquerque-Denver corridor.
